In the midst of all the dating sites online, it’s tough for the older crowd. If you’re over 50 years old, you’ve likely heard many times by now that you’re over the hill. What started this rumor that once you’ve reached the middle of your life, it’s all downhill from there? Well while I’m sure that sounds verrrryyy believable it’s really all in what you make of it.
Today’s baby-boomers will stop at nothing to put an end to this rumor.
Mark Twain once said “Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.” Truer words, I think, have never been spoken! So you’re a senior citizen – so what! Hear that.. who cares how old you are really. Life doesn’t have to be relegated to planting flowers and rocking on your front porch talking about the good old days. Believe me; the good old days are just starting! You’re only as old as you feel and there’s been too much emphasis placed on age anyway.
With maturity comes new knowledge and experiences that you can embrace and enjoy. You are blessed with the past memories you can share with those around you – your loved ones. But what if you’re a single senior? Is all hope lost for sharing your life and those memories with someone else? Not a chance!
When we say big business you’re talking millions upon millions are invested in this age group and getting you dating so trust that there’s a WIDE open field just waiting for you. People really are looking just like you are too. That’s the fun in online dating.
At one time, dating for seniors was essentially unthought-of. The general consensus “back in the day” was that you found someone to marry and stayed married to them forever. Once they passed away, you were expected to simply live out the rest of your days as a widow or widower. Well, the times have changed.
Divorce can also bring you to a newly single status. The divorce rate today is alarmingly high, but for some people, there just isn’t another option.

Freaked by the housing market , more would-be home buyers are opting for rentals – driving rents up along the way. But it’s not just rising rents that new renters have to worry about. A handful of new costs could make renting less than the bargain it appears.
The average national vacancy rate for rentals fell 17% last year to 6.6%, according to Reis, Inc., which tracks rental performance data. And as renting has gotten more popular, prices have jumped. The average monthly rent, including studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments is now $986, based on Reis data. Before the recession, the average was just $930. And in some markets, it’s far worse: In New York, rents are up 9% on average in the last five years; in San Jose, they’re up 8%.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle has published their 2010-2011 Book of Lists, which includes home builders as well as many other industries, and Touchstone Homes is amongst those names. These ranking are based on number of homes sold and revenue. While 2010 was a very difficult year for many builders across the nation, being included in this prestigious list is quite an honor.
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) has done research that reveals that tax incentives, such as mortgage interest and first time home buyer incentives, typically benefit younger families and home buyers more than others. Research from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) shows that buyers ranging in age from 35-45 receive the most tax benefit, then 18-34 year old buyers and the benefits decline as the tax payer gets older.
