As part of the Touchstone Homes Social Media Campaign, we use various forms of online social media to spread the word about incentives, special sales, Home of the Week and other announcements offered by the company.  For example, we have offered a dollar discount on Facebook – if you come into the Sales Center and mention that you saw a post on Facebook or Twitter, you will get the discount mentioned in the post!  How easy is that!?!?

The week of January 10, 2011 was the week of the blizzard in Georgia!  Metro Atlanta Counties were covered in snow anywhere from 4″-10″ depending on where you were .  Well, “Snowmaggedon” as it has been refered to it was a very busy week here at Touchstone and New Haven Walk!  After a drought of potential customers in this luxury townhome community located at the corner of Houze Road and Houze Way, we had two relocation buyers come in and fall in love at first sight with these gorgeous 3-story townhomes during Snowmaggedon!!!  Both proposects were converted to Buyers and are set to close within 3 days of each other in early March.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle has published their 2010-2011 Book of Lists, which includes home builders as well as many other industries, and Touchstone Homes is amongst those names.  These ranking are based on number of homes sold and revenue.  While 2010 was a very difficult year for many builders across the nation, being included in this prestigious list is quite an honor.

Today we celebrate Veteran’s Day in America.   Some people have the day off.  We saw lighter traffic as a result.  Some kids are out of school.  Some go to work as usual.  Some will walk into battle across the seas and continue to fight for the freedom that we have today.

We honor and remember those who fought and lost their lives to allow us to enjoy the freedoms we have today.  Today we salute the more than 20 million veterans whose dedication protects the freedoms we enjoy.  Thank you for your service and your sacrifices.   We honor your fathers, grandfathers, uncles, sons, nephews, cousins and friends.

In November 1919, President Wilson proclaimed November 11th as the first commemoration of Armistice Day with the following words:  “To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the council of nations….”

The day was original planned for celebration with parades and public meetings, but that changed in 1926.  To read more…..
